When most parts of the world are being gripped in icy cold weathers, the one thing that makes us all love the turn of this season is the presence of ice and snow around us. Even though people face a lot of difficulties in running about their usual businesses of the day and trade in such steeply cold temperatures, the beauty of some places just makes it a little justifiable. The one place these days that has been all over the social media and newspapers across the world is the mighty Niagara Falls, for it has literally become a Winter Wonderland of sorts after getting frozen.
The landscape surrounding the Falls looks like it is a scene lifted from Narnia, and we are not the ones who are saying this; much of the social media is actually buzzing with references of associating Niagara Falls to Narnia. The major drop in temperatures in this area has been due to the turning of Storm Grayson into a ‘bomb cyclone’, which has plunged the country to -35 C. Since then, an Arctic Blast has also made conditions worse in many areas of Canada, US, and the UK.
These changes in the weather have resulted in freezing conditions in the Niagara Falls, where the flowing water has turned into layers of snow. Swathes of snow give a feeling that tonnes of cotton have been spread over the falls and icicles have been formed on the railings and poles. Although the weather doesn’t really allow people to come out of their homes, but many have been daring the chilly air to catch the glimpse of the Frozen Niagara Falls and have been posting wonderful pictures.
Even though it looks like the entire area has frozen, but actually that is not the case. The Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission, Janice Thomson said that although the falls look frozen, water is actually flowing below the ice. She said that one can stand there and hear the roar of the flowing water. It is just that there is less water flowing over the falls, which is making the entire build-up of ice, giving the appearance of being frozen all over.
The stunning scenery that has been created from the freezing Falls is the only good thing that has happened in the wake of the chilly wave of the Arctic air. People have been forewarned about the occurrence of frostbite and hypothermia and have been advised to stay warm and not expose their skin to the freezing air. It is also being advised by Animal Charities that people take care of their pets also.

❄⛄Winter transforms Niagara Falls into Winter Wonderland!!!🌊❄😍😍 🌍Photos of the falls on the American and Canadian sides have become a world attraction in recent days as wind chills there fell to as low as minus 14 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. River and falls are essentially unaffected by the cold, but the mist hits rocks, trees and railings and turns them into a majestic scene of ice.👌😍🌊🌊❄🌊❄❄❄🌊❄❄🌊🌊❄❄⛄ ⏩keep loving Nature❤⏪ 📲Send Your Pics to us!! 🌟Keep using hashtag 》 #Iaminlovewithnature 《 🚩 🔖Tag or DM your Favourite shot to publish on our page! 📷🌟 . . . #newyork #niagara #niagarafallscanada #Canada #usa #Texas #niagarafalls #Ice #nature #snow #river #winter #January #Nationalgeographic #Nationalpark #park #discovery #wanderlust #travel #travelers #traveling #adventure #falls #waterfall #photography #instagram
The winter wonderland surely is worth watching this time of the year, but more than that we should all make sure that people and animals do not suffer in the freezing conditions.
